The CIO and CISO of the State of Montana, Ron Baldwin and Lynne Pizzini, will be giving a public talk on State of Montana Cybersecurity from an Enterprise Perspective” next Tuesday from 3:30-5 PM.  This is a fantastic opportunity to hear from two very experienced leaders about the State of Montana’s cybersecurity program. Description: Cybersecurity is a growing challenge in all aspects of our lives.  State government is no exception with over 1 billion attempts to gain unauthorized access to its systems each month.  This presentation will provide information on how the State of Montana works diligently to protect citizen data and state computer systems in an ever-changing technological environment.  Everyday examples will be provided with a time for a question and answer session at the end.

Bio – Ron Baldwin
Ron Baldwin has spent 30 years managing, designing, and building information technology solutions in the government and private sectors. He is a professional project manager who has overseen multi-million dollar budgets and has experience working with the legislative and executive branches of state government and with federal programs. Ron has degrees in Computer Science and Biology/Chemistry. In addition, he holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Prior to his appointment by Governor Steve Bullock to serve as the State CIO, Ron was the Chief Information Officer for the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, a $2 billion government agency with 3,100 employees. Ron was responsible for overseeing the contracting, management, implementation, and operations of information systems and infrastructure that directly support programs promoting the health and welfare of Montana citizens. This included an IT project portfolio of $100 million.

Bio – Lynne Pizzini
Lynne Pizzini is the Deputy Chief Information Officer and the Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Montana.  Lynne‚Äôs job responsibilities include the day to day operations of the state’s enterprise information technology organization as well as oversight for the state’s enterprise cybersecurity program.  This includes developing strategic direction for efficiencies in processes within the organization.  Lynne is responsible for evaluating and mitigating risks and developing strategies to protect against cybersecurity threats. She has over 25 years of experience in the computer industry and has been involved with many security and privacy related initiatives in both the public and private sectors.  She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).  Lynne enjoys the training and awareness aspect of her career and likes to make dull subjects security fun and entertaining by incorporating magic and other fun gimmicks into her presentations and awareness activities.  In her spare time, Lynne likes to spend time with her family, golf, go 4-wheeling, and hang out at the local assisted living facility playing her guitar and singing.

Sherri Davidoff is the CEO of LMG Security and the author of three books, including “Ransomware and Cyber Extortion” and “Data Breaches: Crisis and Opportunity. As a recognized expert in cybersecurity, she has been called a “security badass” by the New York Times. Sherri is a regular instructor at the renowned Black Hat trainings and a faculty member at the Pacific Coast Banking School. She is also the co-author of Network Forensics: Tracking Hackers Through Cyberspace (Prentice Hall, 2012), and has been featured as the protagonist in the book, Breaking and Entering: The Extraordinary Story of a Hacker Called “Alien.” Sherri is a GIAC-certified forensic examiner (GCFA) and penetration tester (GPEN) and received her degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT.
